FG commends ANSG over youth programmes

…As over 2000 Corps members are sworn-in
The Federal Government has commended Anambra State government for creating windows of opportunities for youth development.

President Muhammadu Buhari made the commendation at the commissioning and swearing-in ceremony of 2020 Batch A Stream 1 corps members at Mbaukwu Umuawulu Permanent Orientation camp, Anambra State.
President Buhari, who acknowledged that youth empowerment was key to the growth of any country, observed that the youths were the future of the country.
The President was represented by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, where over 2000 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members were sworn-in.
The Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier-General Shuibu Ibrahim, said the Coronavirus screening which had commenced in all NYSC Camps shall be sustained and that the Corps members have been educated to take precautionary measures against the deadly virus.
He said the presidency has increased the monthly allowance of corps members from N19,800 to N33,000, urging them as first beneficiaries on camp, to be motivated and dedicate themselves to the service of their fatherland.
The NYSC state Co-ordinator in the state, Mr. Kehinde Aremu, said that over 2000 Corps members were deployed to the state and thanked the present administration for creating a conducive environment for business to thrive.

Aremu maintained that the corps members would be exposed to different skills and culture of the people, saying that the corps members would be given adequate orientation in consonance with the tenets of the NYSC Scheme.
The chairman NYSC Governing Board in the state, Mr. Afam Mbanefor, appealed to Corps members to take advantage of the orientation course and the service year to learn the virtues of discipline and teamwork among others.
Earlier, Governor Willie Obiano, who welcomed the Corps members, promised to speedily complete the NYSC skills acquisition centre in the area.
The governor cautioned the Corps members against travelling without permission from the appropriate authorities.
The highpoint of the orientation was testing of Corps members and visitors against the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
