FG approves online exams for private schools operating on foreign curriculum

The Federal government has said that private schools operating on International curriculum can conduct their third term examinations online.

The Minister of State for Education, Mr. Chukwumeka Nwajiuba who disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists in Abuja explained that there are private schools licensed to run foreign curriculum essentially for the children of expatriates and diplomats.

According to him, the approved curricula are targeted at satisfying the ability of such children to be able to re-join the school system of their home countries at the time of need.

He said, “there are private schools licensed to run foreign curriculum essentially for the children of expatriates and diplomats.

“The approved curricula are targeted at satisfying the ability of such children to be able to re-join the school system of their home countries at the time of need.

“If such schools are able to host online classes for the curriculum they operate and they choose to use the period to cover their syllabus, it is permitted.

The minister added that the government has not stop people from learning.

It could be recalled that as part of the Government’s measures to prevent further transmission of COVID19, it ordered schools to remain closed until the the country is declares safe for schools to re open .
