FCTA spits fire on AEPB

 

The authorities of Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has perfected move to review contracts of Companies holding the cleaning job of Abuja metropolis’s, while expressing serious displeasure over what it considered as poor performances in the management of the city’s sanitary conditions by Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB)

The Abuja Environmental Protection Board, it would be recalled faced the first batch from the present leadership having taking inventory of the hygienic state of the city.

As it stands, about twenty seven (27) contractors are to have their contracts terminated by the FCT administration, having taken a drastic measure to conduct high profile security checks on the contractors for gulping so much money from the Administration without anything considerable to show for the money being expended.

Accordingly, the authorities have directed the Board to produce with immediate effect complete brief and other relevant documents on each of the contractor for rigorous security check.

Furthermore, the Administration has directed the Board to fish out incompetent and dubious staff for immediate sanction.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Board, Alhaji Baba Lawan has pleaded for more time to enable the staff deliver on its mandate.
