Fashion Enthusiast: Ensure clothe hygiene to curb spread
A fashion enthusiast, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi, on Sunday urged Nigerians to ensure proper clothe hygiene as a strategy to prevent the spread of new coronavirus (COVID-19).

Ademiluyi, Founder, Africa Fashion Week, Nigeria/London, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that washing clothes with hot water and detergent would be helpful.
She quoted the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases as saying that some viruses could still be active after two or three days on plastic and stainless steel, and four hours on copper.
A lot of our clothing, including zippers and buttons, are made of those material and, therefore, could bring the virus into homes.
“We should also be conscious of what we wear, where we go and who we touch,”Ademiluyi, also the Cultural Ambassador to Queen Moremi Ajasoro, said.
She said that it was better to use machine wash for greater heat in preventing infections.“However, if you don’t have a washing machine, hot water and strong detergent wash will help.

“Changing your clothe-washing habit is very crucial at this period, as this can help you and your family stay safe from contracting or spreading the virus.” she said.
Ademiluyi said that Nigerians should make up their minds to obey government directives and expert advice on how to curb COVID-19 spread.Ademiluyi advised clothe rentals to suspend it this period.
