An explosion was reported to have occurred at the Azagba-Ogwashi-Uku Police Post at about 8pm on Tuesday night in Delta State. Though, the cause of the explosion could not be immediately ascertained as at the time of filling this report sources at Azagba-Ogwashi-Uku told our reporter that the sound rocked the entire community, sending fear into the residents of the town. A source, who confided in our reporter over the incident, said they were not sure what exactly triggered the explosion.
“All we knew was that the sound of the explosion was so strong, which made us to believe that it could not have been the sound of a gun or a burst vehicle tyre.
“In fact, the sound of the explosion caused panic in the community and led some persons who were resting outside their houses. We attempted to verify what the cause of the explosion was after some hours of the incidence, but fear could not allow us to go out towards the scene of the blast”, hinted the source who spoke on the condition that he would not be named in the print.
When contacted, the Police Image Maker, Delta State, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said the explosion came from a packed Honda vehicle used sometimes for bunkering by criminals.
