Emede Ibeku community to FG, Min of Agric: We are grateful, but….

The people and traditional ruler of Emede Ibeku autonomous community, in Umuahia North LGA have appreciated the federal government and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for their access road being constructed.
However, they have also pleaded that the roads be completed and also extended to neigbouring communities in the area.
According to the traditional ruler of the community, Eze Henry Ezekwem, the community will forever be grateful to the Federal Government and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the access road that linked the community to their neigbhouring Umuagu community as well as Umueze community all in Emede autonomous community.
The royal father however pleaded that the roads should be completed to give the community a sense of belonging and to enable their people who are mostly farmers to transport their products to the nearby urban city of Umuahia.
Also pleading is a farmer, Mr. John Uche, a native of Amasiri in Afikpo Ebonyi State and living in Umuakannu community in Emede said “My landlords are farmers and need the road to evacuate their farm products”, pleading with the federal government to as a matter of great concern look at the road and assist the community.
A cripple and immediate past youth leader of Umuakannu community, Mr. Obinna Anosike Ukanwa, alias Ijere while expressing his happiness that the government is doing the road, pleaded that it presents much difficulty for physically challenged people from the area to be mobile, stating that he cannot even move his wheel chair around the community before.
“But now, to an extent, we, the physically challenged in the area have hissed a sigh of relief, but the Federal Government and the federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development should please complete the road for us, from Umuagu to Umuakkanu, to Umueze and to Agbo Idide communities”.
For Mr. Chile Ogbonna who just returned from outside the country, the construction of the road shows the great regard the federal government and the federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have for our people, calling on them to ensure the road is completed, promising the loyalty of the people to them.
It would be recalled that as a responsibility to the people of the country and to encourage rural communities, the federal government and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have embarked on this rural access road to assist the community who are mostly farmers.
The roads have excited the rural community that has before now been grappling with the reality of immobility due to bad roads.
With this therefore, the community has expressed their gratitude to the federal government, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the contractor handling the job, promising them that the community would give the contractor the needed assistance to complete the job.
The community also used the opportunity to felicitate with the senator representing Abia Central in the senate, Sen. T. A. Orji for his favourable disposition to the people and the federal government, which has made the federal government to remember them, and promised him their necessary assistance, come 2019 general election in the zone.
