Election tribunal: N446m professional charges not yet paid – Gov’s lawyers

A team of lawyers who claimed to have represented the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2015 Election Petition Tribunal, have written the Chairman of APC Plateau State chapter, demanding the sum of N446,000,000.00 as professional charges of all the lawyers.

The letter dated 5th October, 2016, addressed to the party’s secretariat in Plateau, called on the Chairman, Hon. Latep Dabang to give attention to the letter.

The letter in part reads, “you will recall that the party engaged a team of lawyers (herein after called ‘The Lawyers’) to prosecute and defend for and on her behalf, petitions respecting the Governor, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly seats respectively, as it affects the party and its candidates.

“Find attached hereto the Bill ofprofessional charges of the lawyers, in the sum of N446,000,000.00 (Four Hundred and Forty-six Million Naira), for prompt settlement”, the letter reads.

Attempt to get the APC party chairman to comment on the matter proved abortive.
