Don seeks empowerment of youths for economic devt

A former Dean of Engineering, Department, the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Professor Sabitu A Olagoke, has called on government at all levels to empower youths to overcome the present economic challenges for realisation of their true potential.
The professor, who is also a vice chairman, Governing Council, Institute of Policy Management Development, in a paper entitled: Empowerment strategy amid unemployment: The challenges of the youth, he delivered at the Shafaudeen Brothers Daawah Movement Week, Year 2016 in Ibadan urged the government to proffer and implement policy that would create room for youth’s self-generated and rewarding employment.
Olagoke, who listed stumbling blocks to self actualization in an unfriendly environment stressed that joblessness was an evil deeds breeder that could incite youth and even old people to violence ubiquitous crimes and general insecurity. He said that no responsible, responsive and pro-active government could stand at akimbo watch the evils that unemployment could unleash, as the society degenerate to chaos.
The Rosul of the Shafaudeen Mission call on the government to quickly embark on production of young entrepreneurs through financial education and management literacy which he stressed would change the orientation of the beneficiaries.
He sressed that youth empowerment through development of entrepreneurship programme would position youths to be harbingers of new order, creating jobs for themselves and others. Thus providing leadership that would engender economic prosperity in the land.
Prpfessor Olagoke said the government must promote a conducive atmosphere to inspiration and self-motivation that would led to maturity in their march to match the Asian Tigers of China and South Korea to realize their dream of a buoyant economy for the country.
