Delta PDP in crisis over alleged imposition of Candidates

Fresh trouble of alleged imposition of Candidates ahead of the 2019 elections has unsettled Delta State Chapter of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) with aggrieved members set to dump party.

It was gathered exclusively that across the 25 local government councils, especially in Burutu, Bomadi, Ughelli, Ndokwa west and East, Oshimili south, North, aggrieved members of the party have alleged that the party lacks internal democracy, particularly during the recently concluded primaries where imposition allegedly played out.

An aggrieved party member who spoke to journalists in Government House on condition of anonymity said “we are visibly angry with the so called party leaders; these leaders are not sincere with us.

They imposed candidates’ on us; we are moving out of the party very soon and we will disorganise the party’s strategies to return PDP in power come 2019 elections.

Candidates that will be representing us are not our choices apart from one Charles Emetulu who was never imposed on us, because of his track record; he won the primaries convincingly, we are tired of Monkey dey work, Baboo dey choop, the party leadership has not changed at all”.

But Barrister Kingsley Essiso, the state party chairman in reaction to Journalists’ questions dismissed the fear of the unknown, saying that no cause for alarm.

He said “we are resolving the entire crisis, as a matter of fact no crisis in Delta PDP. We are one family and any aggrieved member will be happy after the meeting.”
