The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor has reiterated his unwavering commitment to giving purposeful leadership to the people of the local government as he seeks re-election in the upcoming council polls.

Hon. Egbabor stated this at Otor-Igho while formally declaring his intention to re-contest the 2017 local government election in the state.

Egbabor, who is aspiring under the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) told an enlarged crowd of party supporters and members at the Otor-Igho country home of the Chairman of the party in the local government, Prince Godwin Ogorugba,

that his passion to seek re-election was borne out of his determination to continue to provide requisite leadership for the council especially in the prevailing economic recession.

The PDP chairmanship aspirant said he wants to take the local government to a point where it can be seen as one of the leading local governments in the country, adding “I am aspiring because I am best qualified to lead the council at this time,”

“I want Isoko North to be a point of reference beyond Delta State and Nigeria. I have been exposed to government and governance.

I have been in government for almost three years now and I can tell you that I have what it takes to lead. I believe I have the experience more than any aspirant.

“Despite the economic recession, my administration was able to rehabilitate and grade some internal roads in Ozoro, and other communities in the local government area, offer free eye treatment, promote peace and security,” he said,

adding that the almost impassable Ozoro/Owhelogbo road was rehabilitated at a time while the legislative building of the council was roofed among others.

“With the collaboration of our leaders and my colleague in Isoko South we were able to attract the rehabilitation of the Old Ozoro/Oleh Road from the state government and apart from the infrastructural developments,

we ensured peace in the local government area and resolved leadership crisis in most communities because we believe peace was paramount to the administration’s success.”

He told the teeming supporters that he wants to leave his name as a legacy, both to his family and people of the local government and thanked his friends who partnered with him to provide free eye screening, surgery and eye glasses which was flagged off by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the second phase.
