Create more jobs for Nigerian youths in 2020, NYCN charge Buhari

To further improve the economy of the nation and give succour to the financially excluded persons, President Muhammadu Buhari has been charged to create enabling environment that will throw up job opportunities for Nigerian youths.

Apart from boosting the earning power of millions of unemployed persons and increasing the country’s revenue base, the government was advised to use increased job oppirtunities to tackle insecurity and social vices.

The national president of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Amb. Sukubo Saraigbe gave this charge in a new year message.

While appreciating the effort of the Buhari administeation thus far, the Council appealed for further utilization of the talent and skills of Nigeria youths by creating more employment jobs and enabling environment for entrepreneurship to sail.

According to the national president, Nigeria witness high rate of youth involvement in criminalities due to high rate of unemployment and low regards for entrepreneurial skills.

He further implored the government to make judicious use of the high population of able bodied young men and women across the geopolitical zones to build the wealth of the nation.

Saraigbe said the NYCN under his leadership will continue to map out strategies to further engage Nigerian youths in useful ventures adding that the Counvil is ready to collabirate with governments at all levels to utilise the potentials of the youths.

He admonished members to make 2020 a year of hope, revival and renewal, both as a Council and as Nigerians.

” It lies within our powers to refresh and renew in words and deeds, our bonds as “ideology comrades”, leaders of today and hope of tomorrow, set the tone and an example for the rebuilding of our bonds of friendship and brotherhood across the Nigerian nation

“We believe that the coming years will be decisive regarding the core objective of NYCN. For some years, the council have been faced with many tribulations, dogged comrades and cadre has faced different assault from different quarters aiming at high jacking the leadership structure of the Youth Council for personal gains”, he said.

Under his leadership, he said the NYCN in conjunction with Belemaoil Nig Ltd “gave scholarship award to over one thousand Youths (1000) across the country, job opportunities were facilitated for Nigeria youths across the 109 senatorial districts of the federation, entrepreneurial empowerment funds were facilitated for hundreds of youths and quality adequate representation of Nigeria youth within and outside the country”.

Saraigbe said as part of renewed efforts to give hope to Nigeria youths, the council has started the process of resuscitating the moribund ideologies of the NYCN in line with work plan for the activities of the Council.
