COVID-19: JAMB conclude plans to decontaminate offices across the country .

  • Orders for locally-produced disinfectant Sprayers 

In its efforts to support the Federal government in the fight against the  coronavirus pandemic in the country, the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), has commenced the process of decontaminating its offices across the country.

The board also disclosed that during the phased opening of activities in the country, members of its staff across the  country would be sanitised before and after closure of work  on a daily basis. 

This is just as the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede disclosed that the board has placed an order for locally-produced disinfectant sprayers from the National Agency for Science Engineering Infrastructure, (NASENI).

In its weekly bulletin made available to journalists over the weekend,  prof Oloyede said that the procurement of disinfectant sprayers would serve as an extra layer of protection for the staff.

He charged  NASENI 

management to review the prices of their products downward, inorder to ensure wider patronage both by individuals and other organisations.

The items ordered include;  locally produced and designed ventilators to assist patients in breathing,  environmental disinfectant safety sprayers like NASENI disinfectant safety tunnel O, disinfectant safety tunnel U, the single-cham  disinfectant sprayer, keke NASENI disinfectant sprayer, as well as vehicle-mounted disinfectant sprayers which could be mounted on both trucks and Hilux vans amongst others.

Oloyede commended NASENI for providing the needed support to the nation at a critical time through its innovations.

He also advised the agency to work on the aesthetics of the machines in order to meet global standard.

 “NASENI Disinfectant Safety Sprayers have  come handy even as we look forward to consolidating on our partnership with you and other similar organisations towards deploying more locally-produced equipment,” he said.

On his part, the Executive Vice Chairman, NASENI, Prof. Mohammad Haruna, commended the patriotism of JAMB at a period when many are fixated on foreign products. 

He  assured Oloyede that the equipment would meet all the specifications agreed upon with the board in terms of aesthetics, added features and durability.
