Court sentences 2 men to 3 months imprisonment each for stealing goat
A Kano Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday sentenced two men, Mamman Mamuda,43, and Abdulra’uf Ibrahim, 18, to three months imprisonment each for stealing a goat worth N6,000.
The senior Magistrate, Hajiya Fauziyya Isa-SheShe, sentenced the defendants after they pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy and theft.

She, however, gave the convicts an option to pay a fine of N10, 000 each.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Muhammad Shehu, told the court that the defendants committed the offence in December 2015 in Kano.
Shehu said the defendants stole the goat at Kogo Village Kano and sold it to an unnamed man in Kwanar Danyole Market Kano, for N6,000.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 97 and 288 of the penal code.
