Compulsory use of cloth face mask takes effect after lock down relaxation – Buhari

President Buhari has stated that there will be compulsory use of face masks or covering after the lock down ease off begins from May 4, 2020.

Buhari made this known in his address on the cumulative lockdown order of Lagos and Ogun states as well as the Federal Capital Territory on Covid-19 pandemic at the State House, Abuja on Monday, 27th April, 2020.

He also revealed that there will be a strict compliance of maintaining physical distancing and personal hygiene.

The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria stated, “We will strictly the mandatory use of face masks or coverings in public in addition to maintaining physical distancing and personal hygiene.”

He therefore urged state governments, corporate organizations and philanthropists to support the production of cloth masks for citizens.

“State Governments, corporate organizations and philanthropists are encouraged to support the production of cloth masks for citizens,” he noted.

Furthermore, he thanked all Nigerians for their patience and cooperation during this covid-19 period.

“I will thank all Nigerians again for your patience and cooperation during this difficult and challenging period.

“I assure you that government shall continue to take all necessary measures to protect the lives and livelihoods of our citizens and residents,” he stated.
