Christians should not throw away things of the spirit- Nelson Iheagwam

Nelson Iheagwam, a pastor and Leader of Nelson Iheagwam Ministries has urged Christians not to throw away the things of the spirit.

Advising Christians who may be hesitant to pursue supernatural encounters, he said:”For believers who may be sceptical, I understand why you may be sceptical, however, the Bible says in 1 Cor 14:1 “…earnestly covet the things of the Spirit”.

Be zealous for the things of the Spirit. If you have doubts about these things, here’s my advice for you, be patient in staying with God’s word, love God’s word, know what God can do and stay within the boundaries of God’s word.

Don’t throw away the things of the Spirit. The safest place you can be as a believer is within the confines of God’s word”.

Shedding light on the ‘Supernatural class” Lagos and what attendees should expect on the 8th of April, he said:”Supernatural Class is a place where the word of God is taught accurately amongst other things.

This is a meeting where God’s people are taught, and trained and the Supernatural element of Christianity is emphasised.

By Supernatural elements, I don’t mean weird things, I mean things like the Spirit of God leading you, stirring you to grow in devotion to God and the love of God.

It’s a Christian class where we learn biblically about the Gifts and Fruit of the Spirit.

For everyone that has attended Supernatural Class, one expectation that has been met, and will be met for new attendees is every outworking of the Indwelling Spirit in the believer will be learnt and experienced. Ultimately, growing in your walk with God”.

On how he began staying committed to the things of God , he said:”I have been seriously serving the Lord since my secondary school days and leading up to my days at Covenant University.

Loving God, chasing His leadings, fellowshipping with fellow Christians, praying for people, and teaching people.

I just wanted to do all that God will have me do. I’ve been hosting meetings since school, and then after school, God led me to bring it all under one umbrella, and this birthed Nelson Iheagwam Ministries. I got ordained in 2021.

For music, I could always sing, and carry a tune, however, songs started dropping into my heart during my time of personal devotions and prayers, and also during meetings. New songs were birthed, and then we would usually just record them with our phones and replay them over streams till we could record”.
