‘Chibok girls must not be used for political gains’ -CAN

The national president of Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Engr Daniel David Kadzai, has called on Nigerian politicians to desist from using the release of the Chibok girls for any political gains as the young ladies had already gone through a lot of traumatic experience.

Hoping that the swapping of five commanders of Boko Haram sect with 82 kidnapped school girls will not be a mirage in fighting the dreaded terrorist group, YOWICAN called on government to beef up security in order to avoid another re-occurrence of the Chibok school abduction experience.

Speaking with our reporter in an interview in Yola the Adamawa state capital, Kadzai enjoined Christians to pray more for the release of the remaining girls in captivity and any other person in the custody of Boko Haram, and to also pray for the total collapse of the group as its insurgency is effecting mostly Christians in the country.

Kadzai describe the secured freedom of the 82 Chibok girls as “a wonderful breakthrough” for the President Muhammad Buhari government and congratulated all Nigerians and the international community for joining hands with the present administration In fighting insurgency, a fight that is now yielding a positive results.

“Most importantly I’m congratulating this girls and their immediate parents for living in the land of captivity for more than three years, for going through the horrible experience,” Kadzai said.

According to him, “the relentless efforts of advocacy groups like Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG), international NGOs like Red Cross, Rescue Mission, coupled with the prayers of many Nigerians and the negotiation team have played a major role in securing the lives of the 82 young Nigerian ladies who were held captives by Boko Haram insurgency group.”
He further stated that no matter the intrigues that were said behind their release, government should live to the responsibility of securing the lives of her citizens as there are other girls under the captivity of the Boko Haram group.
