Buhari’s administration committed, ready to develop N’Delta – Uguru by Idu Jude Abuja

Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Usani Uguru, has
charged the people of Cross River State and  the entire indigenes of
the Niger Delta region to support the present administration in the country in
order to bring more development into the area.

The Minister, said this while attending a thankgiving ceremony in
  commemorationhis one year in office as a minister in Calabar Cross
River State over the weekend, the Minister. stressed that Nigerians
should support the government in its bid to guarantee a better
and safer future for the country despite the current hardship.

Usani noted that he was not celebrating one year in the office, but
appreciating God for what He has done in his life over the years.

The Minister asserted:”The greatest moments of history are recorded under
compelling divine direction. At other times, positive history beckons on
the indifferent lot.” He added that “history is recorded in positive and
negative terms, so let no man count on his strength, but on the perfect
will of God”.

In a related development, Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade
attested that the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru
Usani  was known for honesty, humility and forthrightness; stressing that
he, the Minister and other Niger Deltans would collaborate towards the
development of  Cross River State and the Niger Delta Region.

The Governor added that  the state has never had it so good before the
administration of president Buhari where a number of indigenes of Cross
River State are occupying strategic positions in government.

While calling on the citizens of the state to support the Niger Delta
Minister and  the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Ayade
called on public officers to see their  offices as avenues to serve the
people and not to amass material wealth.

In his goodwill message, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State attributed
hatred as the major bane of Nigerian progress. He called on all Nigerians
to shun any act of hatred in order to move the country forward.

Meanwhile, the Chairman Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission,
Senator Udoma Egba urged the Minister not to be deterred by distractions
from any quarters but to focus on the good works he has started in the
Niger Delta region.

Other dignitaries at the occasion included  the Minister of of State for
Niger Delta, Speaker of the House of Representatives, the newly
elected governor of Edo stat Godwin Obaseki, former Governor of Kano
State Rabiu Kwankwaso including others, all said that best development
should be experienced in the area if the people would embrace peace.
