British Council Collaborates FUOYE

The Authorities of the British Council (Nigeria) have indicated willingness to partner the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), in the areas of capacity building for both staff and students through scholarships as well as grants for the general growth of the young institution.
Speaking through its Director of higher education, skills and enterprise in Lagos, Adetom Soyinka recently in Lagos said they visit by the FUOYE delegation couldn’t have come at a better time and assured the visitors of the British council’s readiness to partner with FUOYE in all positive ramifications.
The Director hinted that the British Council works in conjunction several other organizations through which grants or scholarships/fellowships coned be accessed for staff and student adding that in a couple of weeks (February 23rd 2017) the British Council will be holding the Nigerian higher education dialogue in Abuja and therefore use the opportunity to extend its invitation to FUOYE.
She further revealed that dialogue will cover topics as curriculum reform, a catalyst for change, should higher education design be employer led? And quality assurance in higher education and impact on Nation Building as well as NUC’S cross border Higher education guidelines, a fool for inter civilizing Nigeria’s Higher Education.
Also speaking, the British council’s Programme manager on Higher Education, Sephora Imomoh said the council will stop at nothing to support FUOYE in its desire to emerge a world class institution adding that they will ensure a smooth lingkage between FUOYE and numerous sources of grants or any form of assistance that could be required.
The high powered delegation from FOUYE was led by the Pro – chancellor and Chairman of the university’s governing council, Professor Saida Mabadeje, accompanied by some council members all well as some principals officers including the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Soremekun, the registrar, Daniel as well as the Bursar, Mr. Bashis Badmus.
Earlier, a member of the governing council Professor Ahmed Buba who have been a beneficiary of several scholarship and fellowship from the british council said the Delegation from was there to seek ways of collaboration inview of this benefits from the British Council.

On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Soremekun said he insist transformation through collaboration with credible agencies such as the British Council he equally expressed the willingness of FUOYE staff and students to key into all necessary activities of the British Council.
