Boniface: God helped him to save Cypriot club!
Nigerian striker Matthew Boniface has revealed that there was a divine hand when he fired a last-gasp equaliser for his Cypriot club Aris Limassol to secure a 2-2 draw at home with Ethnikos Achna in a relegation playoff game.
He has now scored seven goals in 24 league games and a goal in the cup.
“I am so happy to score the goal that helped my team not to lose at home,” Boniface said.
“The game was a very difficult one, but God helped me to score the last-minute goal.”
Former Nigeria U-20 defender Gbenga Ogungbe scored for Etnikos Achna in the 35th minute to give them a 2-1 lead.
