Run town – For life
Runtown evolution as a ‘Style God’ has been fascinating to watch. Early videos for “Gallardo” and “Walahi,” and even “Lagos to Kampala,” now look like rehearsal runs for the all-round flyness that is “Mad Over You,” which dropped in December last year. He has been doing greatly in the music industry. His Director Meji Alabi has made the model as much a focus of the video as the artist, sometimes blurring out Runtown, when other directors would slavishly train the camera on the artist. Run town really nailed it with this video with his director making it a success.
Davido – If
The man with “30 billion for de account” is in no doubt about his stature in afro-pop. He has been making other music video but this particular song gingered his fans nd made a blast this year. He appears to be managing well in this music-video-set-as-music-video, in which the scenes and characters switch from actual video to behind-the-scenes. As if to outdo himself, Davido’s released another mind blowing video titled Fall and although it wasn’t as dope as if but it was also cool.
Wizkid – come closer
Wizkid big video was always going to be special and it is. He got the vibe and hit it hard on this very song featuring the famous Drake in it and the director making it a success for him. The video came out with the dancers giving it a beautiful touch. The background was clean and the dance was great.
Seyi Shay -Yolo Yolo
It’s easy to play at having fun in a video, but Shay’s energy is i infectious and you envy the extras who don’t even get a two-second shot. Shay also manages to be both elegant and sultry in outfits. Her music video for yolo yolo give way for the Africa style of dress code and hair style. Yolo yolo gave her so many fans and the way it was shot wow was amazing. Great job from her director, he really tried on this.
Niniola – Maradona
Niniola has saved what must be her best video yet, for her best single yet in “Maradona,” which happens to be her best collaboration with SARZ thus far. The sexy beautiful diva made her fans thrill over this song. Her dance, her look, and the lyrics were catchy. The video was interesting and cool. Nice work Nini, keep shinning and great directing from her director.
Iyanya – Hold on
Iyanya has made a 7-minute long minute music video, which you have to wait until almost 30minutes before any music is heard. His Director Ogu Okupe does a great job of fine-stitching varied elements that include lovers in a domestic dispute, borrowings from Terminator and Ex Machina complete with a credit sequence which audiences won’t even sit through in a cinema. The music video is really amazing and dope.
Olamide – wavy level
Everything comes together here—impressive dancing, a hot catchphrase, and melodies that stick by a hood royalty, over a beat which both knocks and soothes. ‘Wavy’ is the new ‘swag,’ a successful rebranding which Olamide has turned into a summer smash drenched in night glow. His announcement of him being in a wavy level got everyone attention and got him more love from fans.
Falz – Jeje
The video, shot by Mex, has tasteful Benetton colours that somehow blend well with its lyrics. Falz the bad guy has been making hit lately especially when he is featured. But in Jeje he killed it with his director Mex and together they blew the industry.
Olamide – WO
Yes, you might be thinking that this song was just released how come it’s in the countdown? Yes it is in the countdown, WO will always be in the countdown because of its view, and the video with its crazy and funny dance steps really got everyone moving. Nevertheless Baddo has been releasing hit songs but none have been mind- blowing as this one.
Tiwa savage – All over
The beauty queen however will never stop thrilling her fans with her amazing songs and beautiful body. She has this power of making fans love her once her song is being played or watched.
