Arase, Olatilo, LASUTH doctors get Alumni honours today

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase; ace broadcaster, Mr. Bisi Olatilo and doctors of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) who performed the first successful kidney transplant by an all-Nigerian medical team last November, are among individuals who will be celebrated today (Thursday, March 31) in Lagos by the LASU Alumni Association.

The event, which according to the President of the Association, Maj-Gen Cecil Esekhaigbe (rtd) and the Secretary, Mr. Wale Anthony, holds at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, will have the Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as the Special Guest, while Health Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole will give the keynote address.

Also expected as Special Guest is Dr. Fausat Bello, the Director of Medical Services, Central Bank of Nigeria.

The event is to be chaired by pioneer Vice Chancellor of LASU, Professor Folabi Olumide, while the current Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun will be the Chief Host. Dignitaries from the international health community in Nigeria, and the National Assembly are also being expected.
