APC House Of Assembly Candidate Petitions IGP Over Forgery, Misinformation

The duly nominated candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) for Ogbadibo Constituency in Benue State House of Assembly, Mr John Ali, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Adamu Mohammed, seeking investigation into allegations of forgery and misinformation against Augustine Agada. In a petition to the IGP and signed by Mr Ali’s lawyer, Ohireime Eboreime, alleged that Agada forged his signature on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) form with reference no: CF 004C claiming that he (Ali) withdrew from the race. The petition which was dated November 5, 2018 alleged that Agada criminally lifted Mr. Ali profile picture from his facebook account and unlawfully misrepresented facts on the INEC form to the effect that he voluntarily withdrew his candidature as the flag bearer of the APC to represent Ogbadibo Constituency in Benue State House of Assembly in the forthcoming election. While appealing to the IGP to use his good office to investigate and prosecute the accused for the alleged offences perpetrated against him, Ali said that he was duly nominated and will not at this critical stage withdraw from the race. The petition read in part : ” That the petitioner had on the 12th November, 2018 contrary to the misrepresentation of facts by the accused person notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reaffirming his candidature and intention not to withdraw as the duly nominated flag bearer of the party. Enclosed is a copy of the letter of reaffirmation to tell INEC. “That due to the following and antecedents of the accused, coupled with information from credible quarters, the petitioner has cause to be afraid for his family and personal safety. “To this end, sir, we kindly appeal that you use your good office to investigate and prosecute the accused for the alleged offence(s) petitioner.” In accordance with Section 467 of the criminal code.
