APC has concluded plans to rig elections from federal to Abia – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State said the All Progressive Alliance (APC) has concluded plans to rig the forthcoming elections in the state and Nigeria in general. Addressing newsmen in his office Monday, the State Chairman of PDP, Sir Johnson Okebaram Onuigbo alleged that in the state, APC faithful have in their homes, card readers, ballot papers already thumb-printed and the result sheets written, in alliance with Professors from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. “This is not the way to go. Their plan is to rig elections from federal down to Abia. “All we hear as rumour is about printed ballot papers. No wonder, they are busy planning to rig the elections, while PDP is busy campaigning. “We never saw the opposition campaigning and we are wondering how it will be free and fair election”, Onuigbo said. The Abia PDP boss described as ugly the postponement of the scheduled elections in the country, pointing out “this brought untold hardship to Nigerians. “Economically, more than N2bn were lost in terms of movement from one place to another to go and vote”. He said that people are watching to know the reason for the postponement apart from logistics. The postponement, he said is a plan to destabilise Nigeria, adding that it has revealed that “they have nefarious plan to set back the state and it will not hold”. “The federal government wanted INEC to stagger voting so that they can mobilize security agencies for isolated voting in some states later as they did in Osun state” and thanked INEC who insisted that the election must hold simultaneously across the country. “We are saying no to rigging and those who decided to rig the election are enemies of the country. “While we (PDP) are toiling, some people are busy trying to truncate the democracy. “We do not accept that. We know the names of the (MOUAU) lecturers and will name them at the appropriate time. “The state is PDP and nobody will take it by rigging. It will remain PDP. God has exposed them.
