Anichebe confirms West Brom exit

Victor Anichebe has revealed that he is leaving West Bromwich Albion this summer.
The Nigerian striker’s contract at the Baggies runs out in June and he is not expecting a renewal following a season in which he struggled for first-team football.
The West Midland club are yet to release a statement to that effect, but Anichebe took to Twitter on Monday to lift the lid on his future with West Brom.
Anichebe stated on Twitter: “Thank you to all the @WBAFCofficial fans for the support during my time at the club! I wish you all the best for the future. God bless.”
The 28-year-old started just three league games all season for West Brom as he struggled to break into the team after a spell on the sidelines injured.
The former Everton apprentice switched to West Brom in 2013 in a fee of £5 million and had a pretty slow start to his Baggies career failing to score in his opening eight games.
At some point in his West Brom career, he enjoyed a fine spell scoring thrice in seven games against Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Anichebe scored nine goals in 63 appearances for the West Midland outfit with his last appearance for the club being a 0-1 defeat to Watford at home on April 16.
