Insurance company, AIICO Plc in partnership with the Lagos State University Career Development Centre has presented certificates of participation to the students trained on entrepreneurship.
It would be recalled that in June this year, the insurance company organised a one-day training programme on entrepreneurship for 400 students of the university.
The training provided an opportunity for the selected students to interact with experts to gain the kind of exposure that can help them build successful businesses.
The AIICO team was led by the Group Head, Sales, Mr. Gbenga Ilori and were received by the Director, Lagos State University Careers Development Centre (LCDC), Dr. Igot Ofem, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre, LASU, where the presentation took place.
The training was free and students were selected via a merit driven and transparent process.
Ilori stated that the purpose of the training is to help the participants achieve their potentials.
“There is so much potential in the students seated today. Our job is to help you realize those potentials to become the next Zuckerberg and the next Dangote. Our Entrepreneurship Training is just to give a bit of exposure and guidance to help you achieve your dreams”, he said.
The lead Facilitator, Mr. Ashrat Kumar, as part of the training, took the participants through what it means to learn in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world, noting that the business environment is fast changing.
He charged the students to learn from the emerging future, engage in observation FOFE (Feel Observation through Fresh Eyes) and sharpen what they see, urging them to leave their comfort zones to achieve success in entrepreneurship.
