Afe Babalola newly admits 1,491 students, warns against vices

Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) has urged the 1,491 newly admitted students of the institution to shun vices and anti-social behaviour capable of ruining their future.

The institution is seven years old award winning, Best Private University in Nigeria and was recently rated by global university Webometric as the second beşt university in the country,

Addressing the new students in Ado Ekiti during the 2016/2017 matriculation of the university,  the institution’s authorities assured the new students that there are many  opportunities waiting for them , saying the university gives scholarships to very bright students and also students who are indigent but bright, adding that “head or tail you win”

Specifically, the University Chancellor, Prof. Michael Ajisafe, who warned the students against nagative attitude, bad company told them that the school had codes of conduct, with appropriate and commensurate sanctions for infractions for those who breach them.

Apart from the VC equally reminded the students that university life was different from what they had gone through in their various secondary schools adding that they should take decisions that would have positive impact on their studies.

He added, “There may be all manners of influences and pressures in the university from which you are not necessarily insulated. You must be resolute, stand firm and tall on the path of rectitude. You must be able to say no when you need to say no.”

The University Vice Chancellor who noted that, though the institution is only seven years old but had recorded 100 percent accreditation in all its programmes, advised the students to take maximum advantage of the great opportunities their admission to this university has offered them by facing their studies.
