Adi shoots to top of MLS goals race

Nigeria striker Fanendo Adi shot to the top of the MLS goals chart after his goal earned MLS champions Portland Timbers a point at LA Galaxy on Sunday after they played to a 1-1draw.
The big striker, who was invited to Super Eagles for AFCON 2017 qualifiers against Egypt but did not make his much-awaited debut, has now scored four goals to be joint top scorer with Vancouver Whitecaps’ Pedro Morales, Joao Plata of Real Salt Lake and San Jose Earthquakes’ Chris Wondolowski.
Portland Timbers are ninth on the Western Conference league table with five points from as many games.
Last season, he scored 18 goals to help his team win the MLS championship.
