Adamawa Govt set program in motion for youths’ empowerment

The Adamawa state government has put in motion the necessary machinery that will make it possible for the teaming youths across the state to be productive to their communities.

The state governor, Sen. Umaru Jibrikah Bindow, stated this through his Chief of Staff, Alh. Abduraman Abba Jimeta, in a press briefing shortly after the weekly exco meeting held in Demsa local government area of the state on Wednesday.

He said the productivity of youths is one of the major priorities of his administration, as youths constitute an important factor in the social–economic development of any area.

Governor Bindow further said that his administration has resolved that select youths will be trained in various vocational skills to enable them acquire relevant professional skills in skills development centres in almost all the local government areas in the state, while some others will be given the opportunity to continue with their academic activities through school warship that will asking be given to them.

He said that the state exe curative council has approved the establishment of a high Pawer committee, which is charge with the responsibility of coordinating the activities in related to the youths Empowerment in the state, in which Governor Bindow, will serve as the chairman, the chief of staff Abduraman Abba Jimeta, vice chairman, and other commissioner will save as members.

The commissioner for information, comrade Ahmed Sajo, in his contribution said that the state government is the determined to properly tackle the youth’s restiveness through providing the man enabling envelopment where they could actively participate in the development of the state, and that the government will also assist the local government on this issue.

Commenting on the area of Agriculture, the government said that it is one of its priorities of the state government especially with call of Mr. president Mohammadu Buhari, on Nigerians to go back to farm, the state has Dean it fit to provide farmers with fertilizer on or before the rainy season and among other inputs.

He said that all arrangements have been concluded between the state government and the local government to procured over 20,000 metric tons which is 400,000 bags of fertilizer which will be sold to farmers atba subsidized rate of #6,500 per bag as against #9,500that is sold in the open market.

Governor Bindow reiterated the unflinching resolve of his administration to provide the best leadership that the people of the state deserved.
