New Benue State, CP Emenari pledges to strengthen community policing

Benue State new Police Commissioner Emenari Ifeanyi Innocent ,PhD, has pledged to strengthen community policing and partnerships in order to enhance security measures in the state and protect lives and properties.
CP Emenari who just assumed duty from his last held post as Commissioner of Police, Force Provost Marshal, vowed “to use available resources to combat insecurity in the State,” that is facing serial killings and unprecedented terrorists attacks in the last few months.
The new Benue State Police Commissioner Emenari is brings over three decades of policing experience to his new role , a statement by CSP , Catherine Sewuese Anene the Police Public Relations Officer stated.
The seasoned officer has served in various operational, Investigative and administrative capacities across the country and the states includes; Zamfara, Imo,Katsina, Anambra, Calabar, Osun, Ogun, Abia and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

“As a mobile police officer, the CP served as Unit Commander 27 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Kastina State from 1996-1999, Unit Commander 29 PMF Awka, Anambra state from 1999-2002 and Unit Commander 11 PMF Calabar, Cross-River state from 2002-2003.
“He has represented Nigeria in different foreign missions where he served as commanding officer. He was a Contingent Commander, Nigeria Police Contingent to United Nations Mission in Sudan, Ops Officer, Joint Operation Center (JOC) Khartoum, Sudan, Deputy Security Advisor, Eastern Equatorial state, South Sudan in 2012.
Other leadership roles he held are; Commandant, Police College of Information Technology, Abeokuta, and Area Commander, Akwete Area Command, Abia State amongst many others.
CP Emenari has also undergone extensive trainings, including Unit Combat Course PMF training, Amoured Personnel Carrier Course, PMF training School, Gwoza and the Strategic Leadership and Command Course (SLCC) at the National Institute of Police Studies, Abuja in 2020.
He is a graduate of Theatre Arts from the prestigious University of Jos, Plateau state .In his quest for more knowledge, he proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he bagged a Master of Art degree and PhD in Literature in English. He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Academy in the year 1992.
The Benue State Police Command is delighted in having the veteran officer who hails from Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
