Fayose’s insults on Obasanjo is a sacrilege in Yoruba land -Bode George

Former Military governor of Ondo State, Chief Olabode George has reacted to the comment on former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

George who is also the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atona Oodua of Yorubaland, made his reactions in an interview with the Independent newspaper on Thursday, August 13.

He said that the comments by the former governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose is a sacrilege in Yoruba land.

Daily Times had reported that Fayose reacted to the condolence message of Obasanjo to late Buruji Kashamu.

He reacted on the statement where the former president said, ”Senator Esho Jinadu (Buruji Kashamu) in his lifetime used the maneuver of law and politics to escape from facing an alleged criminal offence in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. But no legal, political, cultural ,social or even medical maneuver could stop the cold hand of death…”

Fayose in a recent interview had said that he would send ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo back to prison if he had the opportunity to become President of Nigeria.

According to Bode George, “Fayose said when he becomes President, he will jail former president Olusegun Obasanjo. You, Fayose, jail President Obasanjo? You are now the Judiciary.

”Such rascality is unfounded and acceptable in the culture of Yorubaland. Fayose should stop this because the younger ones will repay him back for his disregard for the elderly ones.

“Who is the human being who has not committed a sin? If an elderly person like Obasanjo even did something wrong, it is not Fayose’s job to say he wants to discipline him.

“You keep insulting the elders all the time. I will admonish him to go and read the book of Proverbs which says “Those who go against their father and mother is a curse for life. Fayose may not know it but he is heaping curses on himself,” George said.
