‘Nigerians doubting COVID-19 reality should see Kyari’s death as a warning’

They said in Jalingo that the death of Kyari underscored the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic.
Alhaji Umar Isa, a Jalingo resident, said he received the news of Kyari’s death with great shock.
Isa said that Kyari’s death should be seen as warning signal to Nigerians still doubting the prevalence of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
“Now that a highly placed person has died of the virus in the country, Nigerians who are still doubting the reality of the deadly virus should see it as a warning signal,’’ he said.
Mr Joseph Dangana, another resident, said that Kyari’s death should serve as a wakeup call and a sensitisation of Nigerians to the need to abide by safety guidelines recommended by the World Health Organisation.
“I want to condole with President Buhari, the immediate family, and Nigerians over the demise of Kyari.
“It is a sad moment for the nation but I would want people to learn a lesson from his death.
“People should always resist the temptation to flout the safety guidelines recommended because disease does not select who to affect,’’ he said.
Mr Ude Solomon, another resident, expressed sadness over the death of the chief of staff, saying it created a very sad moment for the country.
Solomon called on the government to redouble its efforts at tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.
