Again Senate adjourns, to resume plenary March 12

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday again adjourned its plenary till March 12, 2019. The National Assembly resumed on Tuesday after some weeks of recess occasioned by elections campaign. The upper legislative chamber, however, could not attend to any parliamentary business as they failed to form quorum. President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki led other principal members into the chamber at about 10:45 am. After approving the votes and proceedings, following a motion moved by Rivers Senator, Andrew Uchendu, the Senate Majority Leader, Ahmed Lawan, moved another motion that all matters on the order paper be stood down to another legislative day. The motion was seconded by Minority Leader, Abiodin Olujinmi and was approved by the Senate. The lawmakers are expected to resume on the March 12, 2019, after the governorship polls.
