Nasarawa SSG endorsed to contest Senate

The people of Toto local government area of Nasarawa state have endorsed the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Mohammed Abduullahi, to contest the Nasarawa West Senatorial seat during the 2019 election.

The decision was taken on Saturday at the meeting of all the stake holders of the 12 wards in Toto, the headquarters of the local government.

The meeting which was attended by prominent leaders of the communalities irrespective of polititical and religious affiliations resolved that the zone deserves quality representation as against the past and the present.

They alleged that despite its nearness to Abuja the federal capital the area has been a sorry site due to weak representations and selfishness of the representatives.

“As a matter of fact all roads surrounding the FCT should be admirable and should be in comparism to those in the federal capital.”

The people also complained that despite the lofty agricultural policies of the federal government as approved by the National Assembly, the farming population of the area was left out.

They also lamented that the zone has remained in total darkness despite its closeness to Abuja and privileged persons representing them have access to electricity through generators.

They therefore called on Barrister Andullahi to declare for the Senate so as emancipate the people of the Western Senatorial District from the grip of the selfish politicians whom they have laboured for years without dividend.

The crucial meeting had in attendance Mallam Isa O Mohammed as the general overseer of the coordinating committee un the local government as well as delegates from the 12 wards.
