Two cult members in police net over murder

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected cult members over the murder of one Adebola Olarape.
The suspects whose names were given as Saheed Araba and Femi Omolajau were alleged to have shot the 24-year-old Adebola in front of his family house at No. 11 Ijede Street, Igbe Kapo, Ikorodu on Wednesday January 4 2017 at about 4:05 pm.
Brother to the deceased, Sunday Olaifa, who heard the gunshot had rushed out to find Adebola in a pool of his own blood.
Olaifa was said to have made a distress call to the Ijede police division that his brother who works as a stylist in a barbing saloon opposite Ijede Palace was shot dead by unknown assailants.
Operatives from Area N Police command and the Ijede police division immediately swung into action, consequently the two suspects were apprehended.
The Daily Times gathered that the suspects were also in possession of one locally made pistol, two live cartridges and one cutlass. While one expended cartridge was recovered from the scene.
According to the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP. Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the incident, the suspects have been giving useful information about the incident since their arrest.
SP Badmos said, “the Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni, has directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department Panti, Yaba, for discreet investigation while the Commissioner of Police has also reiterated that the command will no longer tolerate cultism related activities in the state.”
