Cabal working against release of Kanu – Eluemuno

The President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Anambra State chapter, Elder Chris Eluemuno, has raised the alarm that there is a cabal in The Presidency that doesn’t want the incarcerated leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to be released from detention.
Speaking to newsmen in his country home in Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Elder Eluemuno said he was convinced that Preident Buhari would have released Kanu by now if not for the cabal.
Eluemuno said Ohaneze had met with the President and appealed to him to release Kanu to them which he agreed but since then the leader of IPOB was yet to be released.
He said there was a committee in which he was a member including some people from the North and they had several meetings for a long time which eventually met with the President who agreed to release the Kanu.
He said they were almost sure that Kanu was to be released given the promises they extracted from President Buhari that he told the journalists sometime ago that Kanu would soon be released but they in Ohaneze were shocked that up till now he has not been set free.
The Ohaneze chieftain said he was optimisitic that Kanu would be eventually released, saying he would not talk much on the matter since it is still subjudice.
He said that they in Ohaneze were happy to have overcome the initial problem they had with the members of IPOB, who saw them as enemies.
“Initially, they were against Ohaneze. They saw us as the real enemies but we were not. We were not against MASSOB or IPOB. We were against massive killing of our boys. We prefer them to follow their agitation constitutionally. We have been able to organize our people in Diaspora. Now these boys have softened their ground” said Elder Eluemuno.
