NSF Invites 17 for Owerri Scrabble Competition

The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) has invited 17 players for the fourth leg of the National Scrabble Competition billed to hold at Safari Club in Owerri, Imo State.

The national coach, Tony Ikolo, gave the names of the players as Eta Karo, Wellington Jighere, Ayomide Saidu, Denis Ikekeregor, Emmanuel Umujose, Olatunde Oduwole, Rex Ogbakpa, Prince Omosefe, Timi Woko, Oshodi Sunday, Onota Ojiru, Nsikan Etim, Oshevire Avwenagha, Onota Oteri, Cyril Umebiye, Azu Ogbogu and Tuoyo Mayugu.

Ikolo told Extra Time that successful players from the fifth and final leg in Abia State will then be camped for one week in Abuja.

The Federation advised the players to come to Owerri with their Scrabble playing kits.

Benin, Port Harcourt and Abeokuta hosted the first, second and third legs respectively

The Scrabble meet is a selection process for the 2015 World Scrabble Championship holding in Perth, Australia from November 4-8.

Nigeria is ranked Number 2 in the world behind Thailand.
