Young Man Killed in Benin City Amid Ongoing Family Dispute

Kelvin Ehigie, a 28-year-old man who had recently returned from abroad, was tragically killed in Benin City in what is believed to be a continuation of a longstanding family conflict.

The incident occurred in April 18 2024, but its roots lie in a controversial event from October 9, 2016, according to local residents.

Back in 2016, Kelvin was allegedly caught engaging in a homosexual act with a young boy, Osaro Idehen, from the same neighborhood. The two were discovered and severely beaten by locals. Kelvin managed to escape, but Osaro tragically died from his injuries.

The death of Osaro created significant tension between the families involved. After spending time abroad and assuming that the situation had calmed down, Kelvin returned to Benin City in April 2024.

However, not long after his return, Kelvin was killed under mysterious circumstances. The killing has shocked the local community and brought to light the risks of unresolved disputes.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, but no arrests have been made. The community is calling for justice and a peaceful resolution to the feud that has now claimed multiple lives.
