Yelwa Crisis: Bauchi Police Command arrests Prime suspect

Bauchi State Police command has revealed that it has arrested the principal suspect responsible for the crisis that erupted on Sunday November, 2018 in Yelwa Tsakani area of Bauchi metropolis, Patrick Zumunta.
In a press release signed and circulated to Journalists in Bauchi by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar said, the arrest was sequel to credible intelligence following which operatives attached to State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of the Command intercepted and arrested the Suspect on his way from Jos to Bauchi.
The police said that the suspect is currently being investigated at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) after which he will be charged to court.
DSP Datti while soliciting for the cooperation and understanding of the good citizens of the State on the Command’s effort to make the State peaceful assured of its determination to ensure that all perpetrators of the crisis are brought to book.
Daily Times recall that no fewer than three people were reported killed, while two houses and a car were burnt in the crisis that started as a result of a misunderstanding among some youth at a birthday party in Kusu area of Sakani, which later spread to other parts of Yelwa Ward.
About 75 suspects were arrested in connection with the clash.
