Worst military government better than Buhari’s regime – Ortom

Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom has taken a swipe at the All Progressives Congress, saying the worst military government Nigeria has ever had is better than the regime of president Muhammadu Buhari’s led government.

Fielding questions from newsmen on arrival from Abuja at the Makurdi airport on Monday, governor Ortom noted with sadnesses that Buhari’s led APC is the only one where there are wanton killings, kidnapping and raping of innocent citizens with reckless abandon.

“How can Benue citizens who were going for National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), will be intercepted by bandits in Zamfara state with the said bandits snapped with their victims and posted on social media with nobody saying anything”.

The governor who said the APC government has succeeded in destroying the economy, security and social lives of Nigerians, expressed hope that PDP has repositioned itself to rescue Nigerians in the hands of APC come 2023.

“At least I have the privilege of reading the history of former civilian and military leaders and the saying that the worst civilian regime is better than the best military government. However, in this case, Buhari’s civilian regime is the worst”.

The governor who insists that Benue state have no land for open grazing coming from the federal government in whatever guise, noted that land will be leased to any business merchant that intends to go for ranching in the state.

He denied collecting money from the federal government for RUGA project, pointing out that he was one of those that made inputs that Benue should be given money to promote piggery farming under Livestock Transformation Programmes which has not seen the light of the day.

Governor Ortom expressed optimism that the senator Iyorchia Ayu led National Working Committee of the PDP will reconcile all the aggrieved persons including the suspended Uche Secondus in the wake of the just concluded national convention held in Abuja last week.

He commended the founding fathers of the PDP and members for ensuring a tension and hitch-free convention that has placed APC on sleepless nights.
