Women protest Gov.Okorocha’s election as senator in Imo

Hundreds of women in Imo State on Friday staged a peaceful protest against the announcement of Governor Rochas Okorocha as senator elect of his Senatorial District in Imo State

The women who took to the street to express their grievance marched to the Army barracks, 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Owerri, to register their protest against what they described as  “the involvement of the Army in the controversial declaration of governor Rochas Okorocha, as Imo west senator-elect”.

 Dressed in their black attires, the women who came from the twelve local government areas of Imo west senatorial district asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to declare the election inconclusive or cancel it entirely.

One of the soldiers at Obinze who refused to say his name addressed the women and promised them that their protest has been noted, that they will get positive reply from their head in no distant time.
