Wike sacks Commissioner for Works

The Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Bethuel Harrison, has been relieved of his post by the governor of the state, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
In a terse statement issued by Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Assistant to the Rivers state governor, Electronic Media, in Port Harcourt on Thursday, the governor who gave no reason for his action, said that the sack was with immediate effect.
The former commissioner has been directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works of the state.
Mr. Harrison formally took over from his predecessor, Engr. Kelvin Wachukwu, at a formal handover exercise which took place at the office of the commissioner, Ministry of Works, Rivers State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt on May 10, 2016.
He had particularly thanked the Rivers state governor for finding him worthy by giving him the opportunity to serve Rivers state and her people in the exalted capacity of a commissioner.
