We’ve flushed out bad eggs in Bayelsa’s APC – Sylva

The leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), in Bayelsa State and former governor of the state, Chief Timipre Sylva, says the party is doing everything to flush out those that betrayed the party’s chances of winning the last governorship election in the state, to pave way for purpose driven leadership in the party ahead of 2019 election.
Sylva, who was speaking yesterday during the formal inauguration of the state and local government chapter executives of the party in Yenagoa, the state capital, accused the former leadership of the party in the state of running after money and not the victory of the party.
He said gone are the days when some person within our fold will pretend as working with us in the day time and going to the other side at night because of money, adding that today the mission to take over Bayelsa state has just begun with the inauguration of loyal members and not self centred leadership.
“Today we are inaugurating a people driven leadership, people that will take over Bayelsa, from here we can stand on an Olympian height and look at the centre. From now you’ll see activities happening in the state, we’ll take over the state from the rats in power, whose several years of leadership and huge monies collected is wasted,” said.
While referring to the factional group led by former acting Governor of the state, Chief Nestor Ibinabo, Sylva jokingly said, “We have fumigated all the rats out of the house, and we now have a brand new APC, people we don’t have to manage, people that will understand the mission of APC, people that will not take money and sell their conscience, people that will not come here and work with us in the day time and run to other side in the night to collect money.”
He described the newly inaugurated executive members as purpose driven, who will work assiduously for the victory of APC in 2019, saying the inauguration marked a new dawn in Bayelsa APC.
In his brief remark, the majority leader of the state house of Assembly and member representing Brass 1, Hon. Israel Sunny Igoli, advised the new leadership to ensure all party members are carried along in the scheme of things, adding that the takeover mission is truly begun.
He commended the huge crowd and major stakeholders for having faith in the party, adding that the hardship in the state under the current PDP administration will soon be over.
