Wema Bank supports creative arts for economic growth

…. Hosts customers in Minna
Wema Bank has deepened its interest in fostering innovation in the country, through the partnership with local businesses in different industries, especially in the creative space, to contribute to the economic growth of the country.

It is no doubt that the Nigerian movie industry is setting a pace to meet up with global standards, in terms of quality and expertise, however as a very competitive industry, with financing often a challenge for smaller players, partnerships with corporate bodies like Wema Bank have in recent times being the life buoy of upcoming producers, ensuring that they get an opportunity to tell their stories.

The bank in a statement noted that this was the case when it partnered with Asurf TV for the premiere of Hakkunde, an intriguing story of a young graduate through his journey to self-discovery and actualization.

Earlier in 2017, Wema Bank partnered with Silverbird Film Distribution for the premiere of Smurfs: The Lost Village.

“We are constantly supporting individuals and businesses in the country to ensure they achieve their personal and financial goals; our partnership with Asurf TV is one such,” says Funmilayo Falola, head Brand & Marketing Communications at Wema Bank.

The innovative bank which recently launched ALAT, Nigeria’s first fully digital bank, is connected to the Nigerian film industry by a shared set of values including creativity, imagination and innovation.

Meanwhile, the bank hosted its customers at its Bosso Road, Minna Branch, on Tuesday, to intimate them with the evolution of the Bank in the past 8 years and understand their requirements better, to provide products and services tailored to their needs.

“One of the best means to grow customers is not through customer acquisition but through customer retention,” comments Funmilayo Falola, Head of Brand & Marketing Communications at Wema Bank. “We know that to increase customer retention, we must encourage regular and meaningful customer engagement, hence our event in Minna.”

Through the event, the bank hopes to encourage loyalty and promote its business in the north through word of mouth marketing, emphasizing its commitment to helping customers in the region achieve their financial and personal goals.

The Bank also aims at long-term customer engagement that helps not only to encourage customer loyalty but also turn customers to passionate promoters of the Wema brand, which will lead to easier onboarding of new customers, who will all enjoy tailor-made solutions from the Bank.

Wema Bank reopened the Minna branch in September 2016, more than five years after it closed the branch due to the scaling down of operations to the South West and South South region. With the bank now expanding with purpose, the new Wema Bank is re-engineered to serve customers better with innovative solutions. To ensure it achieves this aim, the bank has committed to listening more to customers.

At the event, Wema Bank’s management will discuss the bank’s innovative products and services, especially ALAT, Nigeria’s first fully digital bank, as well as the USSD banking code *945#.

They will also speak to the Bank’s commitment to building value-driven relationships with its customers in the region.
