We’ll complete Ajaokuta Steel Company, Buhari pledges

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that he will complete the long abandoned Ajaokuta Steel Company located in Kogi State, Central Nigeria. Buhari gave the assurance on Wednesday in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, at the campaign rally of the All Progressive Congress APC. The President said that he is determined to complete the project because it will enhance development and also provide jobs for the unemployed youth in the state. “We will complete Ajaokuta, we already started by laying the rail lines and will finish the company because it will employ people and produce the goods and services required for development,” he said. On democratic dividends, the President said that the Nigerian government, under his leadership is poised to restore steady power supply to all parts of the country, as he pledged to secure the entire country. He urged his supporters and other Nigerians to reflect on what he has done for the country since assumption of office and vote wisely. Buhari also advised them to beware of selfish politicians that had ruled the country before and are desperate to return to power again. “With the little we have, we are making the roads, we are doing the railways, we are going to restore power and we are securing this country so that we can manage it. Please reflect on what we have done with what we have, compare to what they had and the damage they have one to the country. “I am warning you; do not make any mistake of choosing any PDP candidate. What they will try to do is to cover the theft they have committed against the nation,” he said. On the fight against corruption, Buhari, said that his government will not relent in its fight against corruption, adding that he will continue to deliver more democratic dividends to citizens. “I assure you, I will follow the system. Anybody that was found responsible for stealing public funds, we will get him, take away the money from him and put it in the treasury,” Buhari said. Other speakers at the rally including the National chairman of the APC, Adams Osiomhole; Director General, Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation and Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Belo, all appealed on Nigerians to re-elected President Buhari for a second term.
