Wassa: I turned down big offers to join Rivers United

The defender was delighted to move to Rivers United despite getting bigger offers elsehwere

Gabriel Wassa reveals he is excited with his completed move to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Rivers United.

Wassa had a more lucrative offer thrown at him by FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Enyimba FC.

However, the defender felt joining reveals he made the right decision by joining Rivers United, who second in the NPFL top flight last season.

“The move has been completed and I am very happy I will be playing for Rivers United next season.

“By the grace of God I want to believe I will have a good time in the league, Federation Cup and the continent as well.

Rivers United finished second in the 2016 NPFL campaign losing out on the title on the final day to eventual champions Enugu Rangers.
