Pantami, Agada, others to unveil UNN ‘Roar Nigeria’ Hub

The University of Nigeria Nsukka has declared April 26th as the date for the unveiling of the Roar Nigeria Hub, the first full-fledged university embedded technology hub in West Africa.
Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, vice chancellor of UNN will be joined by Dr. Isa Pantami, director general of NITDA; Mr. James Agada, CEO, Computer Warehouse Goup (CWG); Aniedi Udo-Obong, developer ecosystem program manager.
Sub-Saharan Africa – Google, and other 200 distinguished guests at the public launch of Roar Nigeria Hub, a community and collaboration platform that provides professional support to startups, entrepreneurs and innovators.
The Hub which is also a host to the Huawei Authourised Information Network Academy (HAINA) amongst other embedded initiatives has the objective to develop a new generation of innovators and creators by providing an enabling environment and imparting the relevant skills necessary for success with technology entrepreneurship, youth empowerment and job creation.
The Hub is a private sector driven initiative by two engineering graduates of the university, located at the Nsukka campus to serve the Institution with a student population of nearly 40,000 and 12 institutions of higher learning within an hour drive from Enugu city.
Emem Seudieu, the University Advancement Centre Executive, said that Roar Nigeria Hub which is a community that provides professional support to technology enabled startups, researchers, entrepreneurs and SME’s will become a toast of many organizations and IT experts in the region and beyond.
“Their programs are designed to develop a new generation of innovators and creators that will provide local technology based solutions with a global perspective.
The Hub is destined to be a hotbed of ideas, invention and market induced solutions created with the concept of a triple helix; an interaction between Academia, Industry and Government (AIG).
Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, the vice chancellor said that the Hub is creating an Ecosystem that will fuel unprecedented technology growth in Africa.
“We shall be having a public introduction of the Roar Nigeria on April 26th, 2017 at the hub in University of Nigeria Nsukka campus.
“The hub will create employment by increasing local content in information, communication and technology sector and establish the triple helix concept by improving collaboration between the Academia, Industry and Government”, Seudieu added.
