Uduaghan tells political appointees to brace up to challenges ahead of 2019.

Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Ewela Uduaghan has warned political appointees on frivolous criticisms on the works of the past administration in the state, saying that it negates the ideology of unity.

The Former Governor who made this known in Asaba yesterday at an enlarged meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lamented the frequent attacks on his administration by the political appointees, adding that their action as political office holders speak ill, and unfair criticisms. He said: “political appointees should stop criticizing works done my administration, when you are holding a position it is not for you alone, no matter what you earn, you should share with those not appointed, you are the image of the government, the party and not to embark on frivolous criticisms of the past administration”.

Noting that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had done exceedingly well on road infrastructure, Dr. Uduaghan flayed hate speeches by politicians, According to him: “It is unfair to hear political appointees in their present administration saying I constructed wheel barrow roads, that you as appointees are not doing well at all” adding that several offers he allegedly made to Prof Utomi to join hands with his administration met a brick wall.

“I personally met Prof Pat. Utomi to discuss with to please come and help me develop the state when I was the governor, rather he gave promises he failed to fulfill, today he is saying the state will continue to be borrowing, it is unfair” he added.

Dr. Uduaghan however urged politicians, particularly political officers to brace up to challenges ahead of the 2019 election, stressing that the supreme court victory for the PDP clearly shows victory for the party come 2019”

In his remarks, the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa warned against parallel meetings by the party members, especially those who claimed to be factionalized, adding that the new PDP will give back to the grass roots for formidable development, and sustainability.

He said: “political office holders who failed to attend this meeting today will forfeit his/her allowances, we will not accept excuses from any member” and called on aggrieved members of the party to retrace their steps back now that victory had come the party’s way.

“We welcome aggrieved members of the party back, even APC members willing to join the party. PDP will in 2019 shock many Nigerians with victory” he added .
