U-20 W/Cup: Flying Eagles Fear No Foe –Garba

Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba says he is unfazed with the prospect of facing Brazil at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Nigeria will play in Group E of the U-20 World Cup against heavyweights Brazil, Hungary and North Korea after emerging as winners at the just ended Africa Youth Championship (AYC) in Senegal.

But despite the prospect of facing tough opponents in the group, Manu says he is unperturbed about who they face.

“Every team that will be at the World Cup has equal opportunities of winning the World Cup, so let’s not start thinking one team is the favourite.

“I believe every team that have qualified to be good because they wouldn’t be there if they aren’t good.

“So whether we are playing Brazil or not doesn’t bother me at all. It’s the same thing and all the teams will go there and prove what they can do,” he said.

The Flying Eagles returned to the country from Senegal on Monday, where they won a record seventh AYC title, beating hosts Senegal 1-0 in the final, courtesy of a wonder striker from forward Bernard Bulbwa.
