Two docked for allegedly murdering 73-year old man

Two brothers have been arrested by operative of Ogun State Police Command for allegedly murdering a 73-year-old man in Agbara area of the State..
According to reports, the brothers identified as 27-year-old Matthew Elegbede and 33-year-old Sunday Elegbede.
The Elegbede brothers were said to have attacked 73-year-old Odeyemi Adebari, who eventually died four days after, from the injuries inflicted on him with a machete.
Adebari, the son of the victim, reported to the police at the Agbara division, after his father died while on hospital admission.
Confirming the arrest and the incident, the Ogun State, Public Relation Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintended of Police (ASP), Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Matthew Elegbede had attacked the deceased in his apartment on Monday, June 21, after another tenant raised an alarm because of his presence. The deceased had come out to find out why his neighbour raised an alarm, only for Matthew to pounce him.
He also said: “The deceased then came out to challenge the audacity of Matthew to come into his house uninvited. Matthew was said to have run away only for him to return with his elder brother, armed with a cutlass in which they used to inflict injuries on the deceased which resulted in his death.” The case has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) in Abeokuta, pending further investigations.
