Tinubu Mourns Ex-Oyo Governor Olunloyo, Hails His Legacy

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Oyo State over the death of Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, former governor of the old Oyo State and a renowned academic.
In a statement released on Saturday, President Tinubu, on behalf of the Federal Government, extended sympathies to the Olunloyo family and all those who admired the elder statesman and mathematician.
Dr. Olunloyo, a prodigy in his field, earned a PhD in applied mathematics and number theory from St. Andrews University in Scotland at the age of 25. By 27, he had become a commissioner in the Western Region and later served as commissioner in the successor Western State.
As the founding rector of both The Polytechnic Ibadan and the Kwara State Polytechnic, Dr. Olunloyo laid strong academic and administrative foundations that continue to shape the institutions.
